This year, our group will exhibit our research at the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition, 30th June - 5th July.  Held at Carlton House Terrace, London, this exhibition aims to showcases the most exciting and advanced science and technology research performed in the UK.  The event offers us a unique opportunity to present our research to wide and diverse audience, inclusive of members of the public, students, policymakers, and established research scientists.

Our stand, entitled "Engineering Atoms" will focus on jet-engine materials, and how we design the arrangements of the atoms in these materials to give them the best properties.  Jet-engine alloys are currently used in the harshest of operating environments, and generating new materials for this application is a great challenge.  Turbine blade materials already operate in gas streams that are above their melting points, and we need to push temperatures in the engine even higher if efficiencies are to be increased.
