Our very own Howard Stone has been appointed as the new Tata Steel Professor of Metallurgy; a post established in 2008 through a generous donation from Tata Steel UK Ltd.
Speaking about his recent appointment, Professor Stone said "I am delighted to be able to take up this role and work to build the University’s metallurgical research links with Tata Steel over the years ahead. It is a particular honour to be able to follow on from the Chair’s inaugural post-holder Professor Sir Harry Bhadeshia, who made so many contributions to our global understanding of solid-state transformations in alloys."
